Autonomy As A Workforce Motivator
25 January 2010
At SolutionPipe, we claimed 'flexibility' as a core value from the start. Then, author Dan Pink comes along and explains this value so much better: Autonomy (the urge to direct one's own life), he says, is one of the big three motivators for creative and innovative workers.
Motivating people to do task oriented work can be accomplished with $weet carrot$ and sharp sticks, but thoughtful, ingenious work only happens when people do the work in their own way, using skills they have mastered, and having a purpose greater than themselves.
These "motivators" can be considered the core values of the SolutionPipe Workforce. Our goal is to build a workforce around these values. By workforce we mean, an association of independent contractors that work and train together. If it sounds good to you, please join us.
Below is a summary presentation by Dan Pink. It is inspiring and game-changing.
