About the SolutionPipe Marketing Culture Blog
Written by Jack Knollson | 12 March 2009
Jargon is the secret handshake of eMarketing. "SEOs code HTML for KPIs and design LPs for PPC and ROAS." This is all fun until the jargon and culture get in the way of effective programs that make money.
Since my work as an investigative reporter for a college newspaper (23 years ago), I have felt the need to expose the dark side of every culture. Marketing, like most professions, has it own secret handshakes and insider culture. Most Marketers are great people, but some are just playing for appearances.
The Marketing Culture Blog is intended to expose those crazy, wasteful ideas and activities that make Marketing ineffective. Some marketing plans are incomplete or just plain wrong. We all make mistakes and glossing over the flaws is a huge temptation, but no amount of lipstick can make an ugly program produce good end results.
