Scoreboard For The 10-Day Makeover

The first 10-Day Makeover Project is complete and the results are fantastic. See our Scoreboard below. We will monitor participants for 6 months and update this page as we go.

Next Makeover Starts April 7, 2010. Only three seats left. Contact SolutionPipe for details.

Our first ever 10-Day Makeover included great work, long hours, some unexpected synergies, and enough drama to make it fun. See my notes at the bottom for the full story.

Bloodshot eyes tell our story. For 10 straight days, the Makeover Team worked, cried, made mistakes, and cheered. Our goal was to re-make five websites and prepare them for future growth.

It worked.

Many thanks to the five companies that participated in this unproven event. As you can see from the Scoreboard above, we are not completely finished. But that's okay. The 10 Days are over, but we're not leaving town. The Makeover Project is a springboard to future success.

Challenges: From the beginning, our goal was to help the participants, not create work for them. During the 10 Days, our main contacts at these five companies attended to a wedding, a funeral, a cayaking trip in Puerto Rico, and they had businesses to run. We appreciate the trust they had in us to keep moving forward with minimal communication.

Successes:

1. Two of the participants gave a big sigh of relief as they looked over the new website they had needed for a long time.

2. Two other participants got so excited about their new websites, one starting promoting it immediately and the other is already planning the next phase.

The real successes are yet to come. We will update this Scoreboard and these notes as we move forward. Please leave a comment or ask a question below.

Mistakes:

1. The new home page story for Rocky Mountain Reserve was wrong. It spotlighted a product that the company did not even sell. We fixed it.

2. The website design for Affordable Printing never came together. We're re-working it now.

3. A complicated form on Private Title Loans never got tested properly. It looked like alphabet soup on some versions of Internet Explorer. We fixed it.
